Getting on the air
Set your BrandMeister password
To connect VoxDMR to BrandMeister you need a hotspot security password. You set this yourself in BrandMeister SelfCare — it's what VoxDMR presents alongside your DMR ID when it authenticates.
This is not your account password.
The hotspot security password is a separate string you set in SelfCare. Your BrandMeister account password will not authenticate against the masters — using it is the most common cause of a failed connection.
Set it in SelfCare
Log in to BrandMeister SelfCare
Go to brandmeister.network and sign in with your BrandMeister account (the one tied to your DMR ID and callsign). If you don't have an account yet, register there first.
Open SelfCare
Head straight to SelfCare — that's where per-user options like APRS, talker alias, and passwords live.
https://brandmeister.network/?page=selfcareFind “Hotspot Security”
Locate the field labelled Hotspot security password. Type a password of your choosing — this is a brand-new string you invent, not your account password. Save the profile.
Keep it handy
That saved string is what VoxDMR authenticates with. Copy it somewhere safe; you'll paste it into your BrandMeister profile in the app.
Enter it in VoxDMR
Open Settings → Connection, add or edit a BrandMeister profile, and paste the password into the Password field alongside your DMR ID. Save, then connect — the status should walk through the connection stages.

Still stuck at “Authenticating…”?
If the log shows Authentication FAILED — check password, the hotspot security password is wrong or you're using your account password by mistake. Go back to SelfCare → Hotspot security password, set a fresh one, and re-enter it here. If you've never set one, set it now.
